A 10-year-old girl was attacked by stray dogs in the Kaulpur village located in Mukerian of Hoshiarpur district in Punjab. Fortunately, a woman living nearby on the same street where the incident happened rescued the girl from the dogs when she heard her screaming for help. However, by the time the woman reached there to aid the girl, she was already bitten by dogs in several places, inflicting serious injures to her.
The girl’s mother, Harshwinder Kaur says that her daughter, Prabhjot Kaur was going to the village shop to buy a few items when some stray dogs surrounded her and attacked her. Later, the girl screamed for help after which a woman living nearby came to her rescue. The woman along with the help of some other people assisted the girl with great difficulty, and by the time the girl was rescued, she got seriously injured, the dogs had bitten her severely on her hips, knees and legs. The people present at the scene then took the injured girl to a nearby hospital, where the girl received several stiches.
Due to this incident, the victim’s mother Harshwinder Kaur along with other residents have demanded to the Punjab government to take necessary steps to curb the increasing number of stray dogs so that no one else falls pray to such attacks in the future.
