The Kisan Union Sidhupur has intensified its protest against the bio-gas/bio-fuel plant being set up in Jamsher. The farmers reached the highway at the turnoff leading to Paragpur area, located in Jalandhar. A farmer leader claimed that they were stopped by the police while they were on their way, so they sat down on the road in protest. As a result of all the commotion, the roads were blocked after the police prevented the farmers from moving forward. The farmers then protested outside Sofi Pind, near the Cantonment area.

The farmers are demanding that the fodder market must be restored as it has been there in the area for a very long time now, however the farmers are being asked to vacate it. The farmers have claimed that if their demands are not met, they would continue their protest.
