A 7-year-old girl was tragically crushed to death by a car while playing outside her home in Guru Nanak Pura, near Chaugiti, Jalandhar.
According to reports, the driver, a resident of Moga, had come to the area to visit relatives. The child, identified as Radhika, was playing in the street when the driver allegedly failed to notice her and, while turning the car, ran over her. The impact of the accident was severe, and the girl died at the scene.
Residents immediately informed the police. Upon arrival, officers registered a case against the driver under Sections 281 and 106 of the BNS and began further investigation. The accused driver has been identified as 45-year-old Jaswinder Pal Singh from Moga. Police have also seized his vehicle.
Investigations revealed that the driver had returned after 30 years to visit relatives. The incident was captured on CCTV footage, which shows the girl playing in the street while the driver was reversing and turning his car. Despite the presence of a bystander trying to guide the vehicle, the driver’s negligence led to the tragic accident. The footage shows the bystander rushing to help, but sadly, the girl could not be saved.
