Multiple districts of Punjab have been witnessing dense fog for the past two days i.e. from December 18. IMD Chandigarh on Thursday issued a red alert for dense fog in multiple Punjab districts including Jalandhar, Ludhiana, etc. On Friday morning dense fog continued to blanket multiple districts of Punjab.
As a result, on December 19 morning, an ambulance collided with a trolley on national highway of Jalandhar-Chandigarh Road. The collision was so strong that it badly damaged the ambulance. The seriousness of the incident can be understood by the fact that the ambulance was taking a patient to a hospital.
Due the accident, another ambulance was called to the spot and then the patient was taken to hospital. After information was received, Road Safety Team also reached the spot. According to reports, due to low visibility triggered by dense fog, the accident took place.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Thursday morning, , 5 vehicles collided near Kala Bakra village on the Jalandhar-Jammu National Highway due to the dense fog.
A truck was traveling on the highway when a tipper truck behind it collided with it. Other vehicles following behind then also crashed into each other. Several vehicles sustained significant damage. Fortunately, there were no reports of any casualties in the accident.
