The city of Jalandhar has been witnessing continuous rainfall for over 48 hours now and it has exposed the municipal corporation claims. Meaning, most of the areas in Jalandhar City has been suffering from waterlogging problem.

And, of course, the issue of power cuts persists in many areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit has shared the amount of rainfall Punjab districts have received in the past 24 hours. The update was shared on X around 10 am.

  • Gurdaspur received the maximum 189.6 mm rainfall

  • Amritsar is number 2 on the list that received maximum rainfall of 154.2 mm

  • Hoshiarpur is number 3 on the list that received maximum rainfall of 122.1 mm

  • Mohali is number 4 on the list with 117.5 mm of rainfall

  • Faridkot is number 5 on the list with 80.5 mm of rainfall

August 26 (On Orange alert)- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Patiala

August 26 (On Yellow Alert)- Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Barnala, Mansa, Bathinda, Moga, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Muktasar, and Fazilka
