The Jalandhar administration has declared a one-day holiday for all schools in the district on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, following continuous rainfall and widespread waterlogging.
Deputy commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal issued the orders on Monday, confirming that both government and private schools will remain closed. The move comes after several areas in the city were severely affected by water accumulation, creating difficulties for students and staff to commute safely.
The administration emphasized that the decision was taken keeping in view the safety and convenience of school-going children. Schools have also been instructed to make necessary arrangements before reopening.
