The Nature Trail will feature a volleyball court, a synthetic badminton court, and a walking track, along with greenery and plantation patches

In a major push towards fitness and healthy living, Rajya Sabha MP and Lovely Professional University Chancellor Dr. Ashok Mittal, along with AAP’s Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli, inaugurated the construction work of Nature Trail in Purani Baradari on Wednesday.

The Nature Trail will feature a volleyball court, a synthetic badminton court, and a walking track, along with greenery and plantation patches throughout the stretch. The road has been named Nature Trail to highlight the blend of recreational facilities and natural landscaping.

The trail connects the DC and Commissioner Residence to Hansraj Stadium and the Division Commissioner Residence. The project, worth nearly Rs 2.98 crore, also includes a large-scale plantation drive to promote greenery and clean surroundings.

The initiative is part of Nitin Kohli’s flagship campaign ‘Fit Central Jalandhar’, aimed at transforming the constituency into a hub of fitness and active lifestyles.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Mayor Vaneet Dhir and Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, along with Ajay Chopra, Happy Waring, Jatin Gulati, Rajiv Gill, Tera Seth, Tarun Sikka, Sanjeev Kumar, Subhash Sharma, Parveen Pabbi, and MB Bali.

Under the Fit Central project, modern sports playgrounds will be developed across all 23 wards of Jalandhar Central, each equipped with floodlights, turf walking tracks, and courts for games such as badminton, volleyball, football, and cricket.
