Audi rams & overturns Thar in Jalandhar’s PPR Market; CCTV footage surfaces

Family members of the victims have alleged that the Audi driver did not stop to help and instead fled the spot immediately after the collision

In Jalandhar, a road accident between a luxury Audi car and a Mahindra Thar has come into light after CCTV footage of the incident surfaced from the PPR Market area near Vinay Mandir, where the Audi car hit the Thar from behind with significant force, causing the Thar to overturn on the roadside.

As per reports, four people were present in the Thar at the time of the accident. The injured have been identified as Tanveer Singh, Amran, Rocky, and Meet Deep Singh and all four are reportedly sports players. Tanveer Singh, a resident of Mukerian has also suffered injuries in the incident.

Audi driver fled the scene

Family members of the victims have alleged that the Audi driver did not stop to help and instead fled the spot immediately after the collision, and as per their claims, the driver escaped towards Cheema Chowk.

Police complaint filed

A complaint has been filed at Police Station No. 6, however, the family has accused the police of not taking proper action. They claim that when they asked the police to use government-installed CCTV cameras to trace the accused vehicle, they were told to find the car themselves.

In his complaint, the Thar driver stated that he was returning home from PPR Market and was travelling at a normal speed when the Audi car suddenly rammed into his vehicle from behind. He explains that the impact was so strong that the rear portion of the Thar was badly damaged, including the bumper and tail lights.

Eyewitnesses and the victims reportedly tried to stop the Audi driver, but he sped away from the scene. The family has now appealed to the administration for a fair investigation and justice in the case.
