A foreign woman walking on road was run over by a speeding Audi car in Zirakpur, Punjab. Reportedly, the impact of the collision was so severe that the woman died on spot.
The incident took place outside Amcare Hospital on VIP road in Zirakpur. The eyewitnesses present at the scene say that the Audi car was moving at a very high speed and hit the woman while she was crossing the road.
Allegedly, the collision’s impact was so severe that the victim was thrown nearly 14 feet into the air after being hit by the car and landing on the other side of the road. Reports indicate that the woman sustained critical injuries due to the accident and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
Sources reveal that the woman had come to Zirakpur to visit her sister. Abhishek alias Abhi was among those present at the scene and shares that he was walking along with the victim and has also sustained minor injuries.
Following the accident, people present at the scene immediately informed the police control room. However, locals alleged that despite being informed, the police reached the spot nearly an hour later. The police have now started an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the accused driver and ensure swift action in the case.
