Ban on bursting firecrackers in THESE areas of Jalandhar, Diwali timing revealed

Jalandhar CP using powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, directed sale of firecrackers will not be allowed except in licensed shops.

In a major development ahead of Diwali, Christmas and Gurpurab, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur has issued new orders for sale and using firecrackers in the city.

Complete ban on bursting firecrackers in THESE areas of Jalandhar

Complete ban on bursting of firecrackers at any time in silence zone near hospitals, educational institutions, etc.

Apart from this, bursting firecrackers within the limits of Suchi village and Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. and also within a radius of 500 yards of the oil terminals of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, is also banned.

Jalandhar Firecrackers Rule

The orders also state that firecrackers imported in the form of toys and electronic goods will be completely banned.

The licensee must have permission from the licensed factory or company for sale of firecrackers at his shop.

The licensee will sell only green crackers. The manufacturing, sale, and use of connected crackers such as strings of crackers are fully banned due to concerns over air pollution, noise pollution, and solid waste.

The license holder shall neither possess, display nor sell firecrackers of foreign origin.

Firecrackers burning timing in Jalandhar on Diwali and other festivals

On the occasion of Diwali, firecrackers can be burst only from 8 pm to 10 pm.

Apart from this, on the occasion of Christmas and New Year, firecrackers can be burnt from 11.55 pm to 12.30 am.

On the occasion of Gurpurab, firecrackers can be burnt from 4 am to 4.30 am, and from 9 PM to 10 PM.

This order will remain in force till 7.11.2025.
