Bomb threats received by MGN, Mayor World, & DPS schools in Jalandhar–Security intensified

The contents of the email further escalated concerns, it reportedly urged recipients to “save your children.”

A concerning update is reported from Jalandhar, several prominent schools, including MGN School, Mayor World School and DPS School, got bomb threats by email. Authorities responded immediately.

Initial reports say the email warned the campuses would be targeted. Schools alerted police as soon as they received the messages and emergency security protocols went into effect across the city.

Parents, staff and local officials were alarmed. Police teams and bomb disposal squads went to the affected schools and started searching buildings and nearby areas. So far the checks are precautionary and no explosives have been found.

The email's language made things worse. It reportedly told recipients to "save your children" and mentioned extremist intentions. It claimed some groups were not targeting children directly but wanted to destabilize the government. It also warned that a statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar ("Baba Saheb") might be vandalised on April 14.

Law enforcement has opened an investigation to trace the email and identify those responsible. Cybercrime teams are expected to lead the effort to track the source and check how credible the threat is.

Authorities asked the public to stay calm and said safety measures are in place. Security has been tightened in and around schools, and officials are coordinating closely with school administrations.

The incident again brought questions about school safety and the misuse of digital platforms to spread fear. More updates are expected as the investigation continues.
