Dr. Navjot Singh Sidhu, wife of former cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, has come at loggerheads with Punjab Congress leadership. While Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu has been suspended from Punjab Congress, she maintains that Congress High Command is in talks with her and 90 percent of AICC are supporting her.
Amid Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu vs Punjab Congress, a new development has come to the fore.
Navjot Kaur has served District Congress President Sourabh Mithu Madaan with Rs 10 crore legal notice and has also demanded unconditional public apology, failing to which a criminal defamation suit will initiate. Navjot Kaur Sidhu in her legal notice has given Mithu Madaan 48 hours to comply with the notice.
Dr. Navjot Kaur's legal notice directs Mithu Madaan to 'Immediately and unconditionally cease and desist from making, publishing, circulating, or repeating any defamatory, misleading, or malicious content' against her.
Furthermore, it directs Madaan to issue an 'unconditional public apology on all platforms.'
Madaan in Navjot Kaur's legal notice has also been directed to "permanently remove all videos, clips, reels, posts, thumbnails, captions, and digital content carrying defamatory imputations' her in 48 hours.
The legal notice further reads, "...you are liable to pay monetary compensation for reputational loss i.e. 10 crores, professional damage, emotional trauma, and public distrust caused to my client, failing which appropriate civil proceedings for recovery of damages shall be initiated.
".. in the event of your failure to comply with the above demands within 7 days from the receipt of this notice my client (Navjot Kaur Sidhu) shall be constrained to initiate appropriate civil and criminal proceedings against you," reads the notice.
As per reports, Amritsar district Congress (Urban) president Mithu Madaan has accused Navjot Kaur Sidhu of corruption and alleged involvement in selling party tickets during municipal elections.
Madaan warned Navjot Kaur to stop what he called a campaign of defamation against the Indian National Congress and its senior leadership. He also threatened to bring evidence into the public domain to expose her role in alleged financial irregularities.
