Drug peddlers attack woman's house in in Jalandhar's Basti Danishmanda after she files complaint

A woman named Rekha informed the media that drug peddlers attacked her house after he objected to them of making her husband an addict.

In a concerning development, a group of alleged drug peddlers on Friday night attacked a woman's family in Jalandhar's Basti Danishmanda area. The incident took place in Shivaji Nagar. A woman named Rekha informed the media that drug peddlers attacked her house after he objected to them of making her husband an addict.

She stated that Indu Lahauria, Suba Lahauria are involved in illicit drug sale in the area. It is Suba who has turned her husband into a drug addict. Therefore, she had filed a complaint to the police in the past. Since, no action was taken she complained at the helpline number against Lahauria. However, her identity was leaked to them.

As a result, they came to her house and argument erupted in the past. However, she then sent her husband to a private de-addiction center. When he returned Lahauria again started taking him with him and her husband again started doing drugs.

The woman further claimed that they attacked her house because she asked them not to take her husband with them. She had also told them not to sell drugs to her husband.

A Police official who reached the spot said, "Indu Lahauria, Suba Lahauria were friends with Sunny who lived in the same area. They had a fight among themselves. During that time, they attacked with stones and bricks. We had filed a complaint. During that time, this incident took place. Three people from different families have been injured."

"They are currently receiving treatment. No child has been injured in this, but we have taken statement of all the injured. They got into fight over drugs issue. FIR has been filed against both Indu and Suba Lahauria based on statement."
