In order to maintain law and order in the area, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur has issued fresh orders to all the restaurants, clubs and other such licensed eating and drinking places to close by 12 midnight.
The order clearly states that no new order for food, beverages etc. would be taken by any restaurant, club or other eating and drinking places after 11:30 PM and no new customer would be allowed to enter after that.
The order further directs all establishments to comply with the noise level of 10 dB (A), stating that all sources of noise including DJs, live orchestras/singers shall comply with this and reduce their volume by 10 PM. It is to be made sure that no noise must be audible outside the boundary walls of the premises. Vehicle owners must also adhere to this rule and ensure that they comply with the rules.
A complete ban has been imposed on carrying and displaying arms by any individual at any public area, religious places, hotels, halls etc or any party or marriage gathering.
The order has also strictly told that no person shall upload songs promoting weapons or glorifying violence/fights, prohibition on posting photos or videos with weapons online. The orders will remain in force until March 7, 2026.
