A GST team raided an office of AAP leader Major Singh in PPR Market situated in Jalandhar on February 16. As per the reports, it is alleged that the officers were confined in the premises for nearly two to three hours. During the raid, the GST team officials were held hostage by the bouncers deployed there and Jalandhar police officers had to intervein to free the hostage employees.
Now in a recent development in the case, a FIR has been filed against Major Singh for obstructing GST officials by using influence and halting their work. A total of nine people have been booked including Major Singh under Sections 132, 218, 221, 222, 224, 270 and 351 of The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhitа (BNS), 2023. Major Singh, Inderjot Singh, Prabhjot Singh, Tarun Sharma, along with 4-5 unknown people have named in the FIR and further probe is underway.
