Five-year-old flood hero Hargun honored by Punjab government

The boy had showed great compassion during the Punjab floods by extending a helping hand and donating all his golak savings to flood effected victims of Punjab.

Hargun Singh, the five-year-old boy who had shown great compassion and emotional intelligence that went beyond his age during the recent Punjab floods by extending a helping hand and donating all his golak savings to the flood effected victims of Punjab. His heart warming gesture was acknowledged and appreciated by the Punjab government. Pleased with his sense of social service, the five-year-old Hargun was given the honor by Deputy Speaker of Punjab Jai Krishan Singh Rouri.

During a celebratory ceremony held at Barnala, the Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai Krishan Singh Rouri performed the flag hoisting ceremony at the sports ground of Kala Mehr Stadium located in Barnala. He also saluted the police contingent and enumerated their achievements in his address.

During this occasion, he also honored various personalities for their valuable social contributions. The five-year-old Hargun who is currently studying in LKG, was one of them, and was given a badge of honor for his valuable contribution. The Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri specially honored the child by taking him in his lap and encouraging him.

Hargun Singh, studying in LKG class at YS Public School Handiya, had donated his golak savings to the Punjab government for the flood victims during the recent floods that wreaked havoc on Punjab. For this, the Punjab government has now recognized his contribution and honored and encouraged him for this act.  

It is being said that the child, Hargun Singh aspires to become a soldier when he grows up. His desire to do something for the country at such a young age is commendable. Hargun’s school principle Mohit Jindal also thanked the Punjab government and praised the efforts of the young child.
