Jalandhar Mayor Vaneet Dhir has assured residents of Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar that pipeline works will soon be completed in the area. Residents of Gur Tegh Bahadur Nagar recently reached out to True Scoop News over the ongoing construction GTB Nagar.
Currently, constriction is going on roads of GTB Nagar with workers laying pipeline in the area. As a result, one-way route has been made. Therefore, during the peak rush hour, traffic jam are often witnessed in the area.
Now, Mayor Vaneet Dhir in an interview with True Scoop assured that the pipeline works under surface water project will be completed soon. Thereafter, roads will be constructed and will be handed over to the residents.
Jalandhar Mayor Vaneet Dhir said, "Pipes are currently being laid across various roads in the city, particularly from Bhagwan Mahavir Marg to Sri Guru Ravidas Chowk and further to Guru Tegh Bahadur Chowk, under the ongoing Surface Water Project."
"Earlier, the pace of work was extremely slow. Before I assumed charge as Mayor, only 32 KM of pipeline work had been completed in the last four years under the previous government. However, in the last 10 months alone, we have successfully laid pipelines across 26 KM of road."
"I understand that residents are facing inconvenience due to the ongoing work. I genuinely empathize with their problems because their daily movement is being affected. However, this project is crucial for the city’s future and we are executing it with complete honesty."
“In the coming time, once the pipeline work is completed, the dug-up roads will be properly repaired and constructed. The restored roads will be handed back to the people in a much better condition."
