Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has informed that registration under the Punjab Government’s flagship ‘Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojna’ (MMSY) will commence in Jalandhar district from January 8, 2026.
Under this scheme, cashless medical treatment up to Rs. 10 lakh per family per year will be provided across all government and empanelled private hospitals in Punjab and Chandigarh.
Chairing a meeting held at the District Administrative Complex with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Jasbir Singh, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajesh Garg and officials from various departments, Dr. Aggarwal issued necessary directions to ensure smooth execution of mapping and other processes related to the scheme.
He said that the objective of the Punjab Government’s initiative is to extend healthcare benefits to the maximum number of people at the grassroots level.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that to avail benefits under the scheme, the applicant must be a resident of Punjab. Health cards can be made at any nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) in villages or urban areas.
For registration, residents must produce necessary documents i.e. Aadhaar Card and Voter Card as proof of residence. He added that it is mandatory for every individual to have a card to avail benefits under the scheme.
For beneficiaries below 18 years of age, Aadhaar Card along with the Voter Card of either parent or the voter card of a guardian residing in Punjab will be required.
He further informed that the scheme also covers regular Punjab Government employees, pensioners, and employees working on outsourcing or contractual basis in departments, organizations, societies, corporations, trusts, etc., under the Punjab Government.
To cover nearly 24.7 lakh population of the district, as many as 649 Common Service Centres have been selected for card issuance.
Dr. Aggarwal directed the SDMs to ensure close monitoring of the entire process in their respective jurisdictions so that the task is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
He also appealed to officials of various departments to work collectively as a team by taking full support of village sarpanches, councillors, patwaris, numberdars, ASHA workers, ANMs, multipurpose health workers and NGOs to create awareness so that no eligible resident of the district is deprived of this flagship scheme.
Notably, so far 15 government hospitals and 47 private hospitals in Jalandhar district have been empanelled under the scheme.
The empanelled private hospitals include Doaba Hospital, Dr. Jagannpreet Multani Plastic Surgery Hospital, Kamal Multispeciality Hospital, New Hope Stone and Fertility Clinic, Pasricha Hospital and Maternity Home, Apex Hospital and Maternity Home, Armaan Hospital, Mann Medicity, Dang Nursing Home, New Ruby Hospital, Ranjit Hospital, Arora Eye Hospital and Retina Centre, Global Hospital, Joshi Hospital and Trauma Centre, Amar Hospital, Sigma Hospital, Akal Eye Hospital, Ratan Hospital, Shakuntla Devi Vig Hospital, Care Best Super Speciality Hospital, Mahajan Eye Hospital, Arora Nursing Home Phillaur, Ghai Hospital, BBC Heart Care, Sikka Hospital, Duggal Eye Hospital, NHS Hospital, Sarvodaya Hospital, Kidney Hospital and Lifeline Medical Institute, PMG Children Hospital, A.N.
