Termed as one of the most prominent market of Jalandhar, PPR Market has been left without electricity for more than 30 hours. Jalandhar PPR Market or PPR Mall which houses plethora of offices and shops were left with no choice but to shut down their shops due to no power.
Due to over 30 hours of no electricity, devices like Invertor and Generator also failed to continue the power supply in multiple offices and shops.
Rajkumar, Site Incharge and Caretaker of PPR Market, informed True Scoop that after plethora of complaints from offices and shops, he formally complained to the electricity department.
He informed that PPR Market was left with no electricity after a massive blast-like sound of transformer was heard. The incident took place around 4 to 5 am in the morning on July 31.
Ever since then, the market has left with no electricity.
After complaints and hours of waiting for the arrival of new transformer, he then reached out to Junior Engineer Bhupinder Singh. JE Bhupinder Singh kept on assuring that the electricity will soon come and a new transformer will be installed. However, it has been more than 30 hours, neither transformer nor electricity officials (while wiring this) have arrived the spot to address the situation.
Rajkumar further informed that SDO Gaurav was also contacted and he informed that once a new transformer arrives, it will be installed. However, the caretaker requested to install a temporary or small transformer in the meanwhile. However, the area still remains under dark (while writing).
The caretaker further informed that complaints with Butta Mandi electricity office have already been filed, but as of now, no solution has been provided.
