To order to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents, Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur has passed fresh orders on timing of restaurants and other eateries.
As per CP Kaur's latest orders, all restaurants, clubs, and other licensed eating and drinking establishments will be closed by 12 midnight.
The orders further state that no orders for food or beverages will be accepted after 11:30 pm at any restaurant, club, or other eating and drinking establishment within the limits of the Police Commissionerate.
Furthermore, no new customers will be allowed to enter the restaurant, club, or other eating and drinking establishment after 11:30 pm.
Premises adjacent to liquor shops will be completely closed by 12 midnight or as per the conditions of the license.
The orders direct all places to adhere to a noise level of 10 dB(A). The orders also state that all noise sources, including DJs and live orchestras/singers, must be turned off or their volume reduced by 10 p.m.
After 10 p.m., any noise generated inside any building or premises must not be heard outside its boundaries.
In the case of vehicles equipped with music systems, it must be ensured that the sound generated by the music system is not audible outside the vehicle at any time of the day.
This order will remain in effect until January 7, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Act, 2023 and Rule No. 32 of the Arms Rules, 2016, has imposed a complete ban on the carrying and display of weapons by any person in public and religious places, in marriage palaces/hotels/halls, etc.
The orders also state that no person shall upload photographs or video clips of songs promoting weapons, violence/fights, or glorifying weapons to social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and Instagram.
Furthermore, no person shall use abusive language against any community.
This order will remain in effect until January 6, 2026.
