Construction of multiple new roads of Jalandhar is all set to start from September 25, 2025. AAP's Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli and Jalandhar Mayor Vaneet Dhir will be inaugurating the the construction of these new roads in Jalandhar.
The list of roads that will undergo construction are – Dr. BR Ambedkar Chowk, Football Chowk, Kapurthala Chowk, Swami Vivekananda Chowk (Workshop Chowk).
Jalandhar Mayor Vaneet Dhir informed True Scoop that the roads from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Chowk to Workshop Chowk will be constructed at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 3 crore.
For the unversed, AAP's Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge, Nitin Kohli long with party leaders and Municipal Corporation officials, had inspected these roads on September 19, 2025. Nitin Kohli personally assessed the condition of the potholes on the spot and interacted with local residents. He said that citizens’ problems will not just be heard on paper but will be resolved on the ground.
Nitin Kohli said, "I am a servant of the people, and every problem of the people is my own problem. These roads are the heartbeat of the city. When they are broken, the entire city comes to a standstill. That is why I have given clear instructions to the officials that construction work should start immediately. Delays will not be tolerated.”
“Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann Ji has always said that the convenience of the people of Punjab is the top priority. With the same vision, we want to make Jalandhar a better and modern city. From Dr. Ambedkar Chowk to Workshop Chowk and other affected areas, roads will be made strong and durable so that people do not have to face repeated problems. This time it will not just be temporary work, but a permanent solution," added Nitin Kohli.
Apart from above mentioned roads, Jalandhar Municipal Corporation will also begin construction work on 10 roads using a Rs 3.64 crore budget. As per reports, the construction work is expected to be completed by October 30.
