At least 7 districts of Punjab are currently reeling by floods. Incessant rain in the hilly areas and raise in water level in water bodies like Ravi, Beas, etc have kept multiple districts of Punjab affected by flood. 6600 people have been rescued by the Punjab Government till now. As a result, train going to Punjab or passing through Punjab have been severely impacted.
As per Indian Railways' official release, 46 trains have been cancelled on August 30 i.e. tomorrow. Among the prominent trains are New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat Express, New Delhi to Jammu Tawi Rajdhani Express, and Archana Express that is quite a popular train for people going to Punjab and Jammu from Patna, Bihar.
The Indian Railways has mentioned that the cancellation and disruption in train services due to traffic suspended in KTHU-MDPB DN line due to misalignment on BR 17.
