Know the Punjab Flood Control Helpline number as 6600 people rescued from flood-hit areas

88 relief camps established to ensure safety and support and 24x7 monitoring by State Flood Control Room in Jalandhar

State Flood Control Centre helpline – 0181-2240064 – has been made operational round-the-clock in Jalandhar to extend immediate assistance to flood-affected people. The Punjab Government has already rescued more than 6,600 persons and shifted them to 88 relief camps set up across various districts.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and Advisor to Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali, while inspecting the control centre, said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, every effort is being made to ensure timely rescue operations and delivery of food, medicines, and essential relief materials.

According to official figures, 835 villages across the state have been affected by floods, including 202 in Gurdaspur, 93 in Ferozepur, 107 in Kapurthala, 85 in Hoshiarpur, 81 in Pathankot, along with several others spread across Amritsar, Bathinda, Tarn Taran, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka and more.

On the rescue front, 2,200 people were evacuated from Gurdaspur, 2,007 from Ferozepur, 1,100 from Pathankot, 1,052 from Hoshiarpur, 220 from Kapurthala and 20 from Moga.

Officials assured that there is adequate stock of food and medicines at relief camps and appealed to citizens to make use of the helpline for immediate help.
