The sole official public holiday during Punjab this September is on 22 September, which is Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti, as government offices and schools remain shut statewide.

The festival commemorates the Jayanti of Maharaja Agrasen, a mythological king and the founder of the Agrawal community.
It is observed as a gazetted public holiday i.e., full government closure.
Although September 1 is a reserve day holiday for Baba Shri Chand Ji Maharaj Prakash Parv, government offices and educational institutions shall be open, and leave is discretionary for staff; it is not a statewide official close-down.
The remainder of September has no other official public holiday for the general public as per notifications from the government.
There is another consecutive holiday of two days for second Saturday followed by Sunday in September 27 (Saturday) and September 28 (Sunday).
Apart from these holidays the banks in Punjab shall remain closed on
September 29 (Monday): will be a bank holiday in Punjab on the festive day of Maha Saptami.
September 30 (Tuesday): Punjab banks, government offices and schools will remain closed on the festival day of Maha Ashtami.
In case of any government circular on September 29 and 30 then Punjab will enjoy 9 holidays. However it is subject to government notification.
The people are recommended to look at these holidays and cross-verify with local authorities and arrange the month of September accordingly. So the citizens altogether can spend the month of September with rain showers and breaks at intervals.
