In fact, on Monday, September 1, the 531st Prakash Parv of Baba Shri Chand Ji Maharaj, the eldest son of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, will be celebrated. On this occasion, the Punjab government has announced a reserve holiday across the state.

Guru Nanak Dev ji and Mata Sulakhni had two sons, Baba Shri Chand Maharaj and Baba Lakhmi Das ji. Baba Shri Chand Maharaj is the founder of Udasi Sect.

According to the government order, the said leave will not be gazetted but will be reserved. That is, government offices, schools and colleges will remain open on this day as usual. However, employees will be able to avail this reserve leave where required or permitted by the management.
