45-year-old Nancy Grewal was stabbed to death in Windsor, Ontario, Canada at her home in LaSalle around 9:30 PM on Tuesday. As per reports, the Jalandhar-origin woman constantly targeted Nihangs and Khalistanis and labelled them as “thugs” and “criminals”, while also stating that she deeply respected good Nihangs.
Reportedly, questions were raised about Nancy’s Jatt Sikh identity as well, with some calling her a Brahmin while others called her Bengali. However, in an interview, she stated that she came from Sikh family.
Nancy was married to an engineer husband, but later they got divorced amid alleged religious disputes.
As per reports, gangster Akash Harike has claimed responsibility for the murder. Akash posted a statement on social media and claimed that he along with Sukha Sandhu was responsible for the murder. Talking about the reason he mentions that Nancy’s out spoken nature and her stance on religion and Khalistan were the reasons behind her death.
It is noteworthy that no official authority has confirmed the claims and currently an investigation is ongoing.
