Know why Jalandhar has been declared ‘no-fly-zone’ and till when

This decision was taken in order to prevent any uncalled-for security breach during the President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the district on January 16.

The district administration has tightened the security arrangements in the view of proposed visit of the President of India Droupadi Murmu on January 16. The Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar, Himanshu Aggarwal has issued instructions declaring the entire Jalandhar district as ‘no-fly-zone’ until January 16. This decision was taken in order to prevent any uncalled-for security breach during the President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the district.

To keep a tight vigil, the district administration has increased the security measures in the area, police and other security agencies will also remain on high alert throughout the district.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amaninder Kaur issued this order under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, under which a complete ban has been imposed on flying any type of civil drones, remote or pilot aircraft systems, paragliders, hot air balloons and helicopters within the limits of Jalandhar district. Official helicopters and aircraft of the President and other VVIPs are exempted from this order.
