Sharandeep Singh, hailing from Bhoepur village in the Shahkot area of Jalandhar district has been arrested in Pakistan. The confirmation of Sharandeep Singh's arrest in Pakistan came after his picture in which he was seen in Pakistani Rangers' custody surfaced on social media. Now, parents of Sharandeep- Satnam Singh and Amarjit Kaur have requested the Government of India to bring back their son. Satnam Singh also stated that since Sharandeep was in depression for the past few months he had started doing drugs.
One of Sharandeep's relative informed the media, "His name is Sharandeep Singh. He left the house on November 2 along with his friend who is also from same village. His friend returned home but our son did not. I asked him where did you leave him but he did not reveal."
"Then, on November 6, he said that he left him in a village of Khemkaran (Tarn Taran district). On November 7, we filed a complaint in Shahkot's Police Station that our son who left home November 2 has not returned. Now, we are getting to know that he reached Pakistan. We got to know about this after our relatives sent us picture of him that surfaced on social media."
"We don't know the reason. Three to Four months back he went into a fight. Since he was in depression, he also started doing drugs. On 21st, BSF officials came to our house in the evening for inquiry. They confirmed that our son is now in Pakistan."
Mother Amarjit Kaur said, "My son should be brought back. I just want him to come back to me. We don't know how he reached Pakistan. We request our government to bring back our son."
