In a major development, multiple schools of Patiala on Tuesday, December 23, received bomb threat email. An unverified screenshot of the threatening email has been circulating on X. Apart from threat to blow up schools and railway tracks, the sender also issued death threats to Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal. The sender also writes about separating Punjab from India.

According to reports, upon receiving the emails, the management of the affected schools immediately informed the police. Security measures have since been increased at the schools.

It is pertinent to mention here that on December 15, 11 schools of Jalandhar received bomb threat email. The affected schools sent students back and the police sent anti-sabotage team. However, nothing suspicious was found.

Furthermore, multiple private schools in Amritsar also received bomb threat on December 12. However, after a thorough checking nothing suspicious was found. Later, CP Bhullar in his address stated that the threat email received by schools turned out to be false and nothing suspicious was found by anti-sabotage teams. He had also said that local cyber cell, Punjab Police Cyber Cell and Central Agencies will investigate it to track the sender.
