The police have booked accused Jograj Singh alias Joga, son of Amarjit Singh, Dalbira, and two unknown persons.

The FIR has been registered on the statement of Damandeep Singh, son of late Inderpal Singh who is a resident of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar. The complainant mentions that on February 6 around 7:00AM he along with his elder brother Satwinderpal Singh alias Lucky Oberoi and another friend Shashi Sharma had come to pay obeisance in Gurdwara Singh Sabha Model Town Jalandhar in a Thar with registration plate number PB08 FS 5110. The complainant further tells that after paying obeisance at the gurdwara, he along with Lucky and Shashi reached the main gate of the gurdwara sahib. He explains further that Lucky had gone to get the car and as soon as he started the car, two unknown youths were seen standing near a white Activa parked a little ahead of the car. One of the two youths, wearing a hoodie moved towards Lucky’s car on foot. This is when the complainant explains that he and Shahi sensed something unpleasant, however by then the unknown youth opened fire at Lucky with a pistol in his hand.

Following this, the complainant Damandeep and Shashi started shouting “fadho-fadho” (catch him). The unknown young man after firing shots at Lucky ran towards his companion. The shooter's unknown companion was already prepared and came towards him with Activa and made the shooter sit behind him and fled the scene.

Following this, Damandeep and Shashi went to Lucky’s Thar vehicle and saw that he was shot and bleeding profoundly. Both of them then arranged a ride and took Lucky to Shri Ram Super speciality Hospital located on Link Road, Jalandhar for treatment. However, during the treatment Lucky succumbed to his bullet injuries.

Telling more about the case, Damandeep says that gangster Jograj Singh alias Joga along with his accomplice were threatening Lucky with death threats through Facebook and WhatsApp. Damandeep informs that Lucky has talked to him about this and told that he was in danger from Jograj Singh and Dalbira. The complainant demands strict legal action against them.
