Richie Kaypee's accident happened near Mata Rani Chowk in Jalandhar's Model Town. The former MP Mohinder Singh Kaypee was at his house at the time of the incident.
Richie was going in his Fortuner car near Mata Rani Chowk in Model Town. Richie's neck was broken and he suffered serious injuries on his head and other parts. This led to his death.
After the accident, the Creta car driver fled from the crime scene with his car. However, he has been identified. The police is searching for him. A CCTV video of this accident has also surfaced, in which the entire incident is clearly visible.
As per information received, late at night, a high speed Creta was coming from Model Town towards Mata Rani Chowk. At the same time, Richie, who was riding the Fortuner, was coming from Mata Rani Chowk towards Model Town Market. When his car reached near a Cafe, the high speed Creta hit him from the front.
A Grand Vitara car also came under the impact of Creta and Fortuner and climbed the railing of the showroom. The collison was so fierce that the Grand Vitara broke the railing and hit a taxi driver named Gurvinder and then also collided with his Ertiga car parked nearby.
All this happened in just 5-6 seconds. Richie, who was riding a Fortuner, suffered serious injuries in the incident. He was taken to Global Hospital with the help of nearby people, from where he was referred to Patel Hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.
As per information received, Richie had made a call on Hari's phone, the house servant, late at night. When the accident happened, Mohinder Singh Kaypee himself reached the spot with family members, where with the help of people present there, he admitted Richie to the hospital for treatment.
But the doctor declared him dead during treatment there.
Notably, Richie's sister and her relatives live abroad. The last rites will be performed only after their arrival.
Commissionerate Police DCP Naresh Dogra, who reached the crime scene for investigation on Sunday morning, said, "As soon as the information about the road accident was received late at night, the police team reached the spot. Investigation so far has revealed that 4 vehicles have collided."
"Three vehicles have been rounded up on the spot. . The owner of the Creta car has been identified as Prince, a businessman from Shekha Bazar, who owns Shaan Enterprises. Prince was accompanied by his family at the time of the incident.
At the same time, the husband and wife present in the Grand Vitara have been seriously injured in this accident. The police have registered an FIR in the case.
