What's happening in Jalandhar today?

Traffic diversion is in place due to a religious procession. On the occasion of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji’s Prakat Diwas, a large group of devotees will leave for Amritsar from the ancient Bhagwan Valmiki Mandir.

Vipan Sabharwal, Chairman of the Lord Valmiki Utsav Committee Punjab and the Valmiki Welfare Trust Shakti Nagar, stated that the seventh grand Valmiki Tirtha Amritsar bus journey will begin from the ancient Ali Mohalla with the sacred Palki Sahib of Lord Valmiki Ji Maharaj.

The yatra will pass through Rama Mandi, Maqsudan Mandi Chowk, Basti Bawa Khel, Hoshiarpur Chowk, Khurla Kingra Chowk, Adampur, Alawalpur, Central Town, Pathankot Chowk, Mirza Gali, and Vidhipur Railway Crossing before heading towards Amritsar.

The journey will depart by 1 pm and will be attended by a large group of devotees. The administration has appealed to people to avoid these routes unnecessarily and to use alternative routes. The administration and organizers have also taken special care of security and arrangements regarding the Yatra.
