A new twist in Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora's case has emerged. Raman Arora is currently on police remand in a new extortion case. Arora was arrested again but this time by Rama Mandi Police Station and was produced before a court that sent the Jalandhar Central MLA on a 3-days police remand.
A complaint was received against MLA Raman Arora at PS Rama Mandi. The complainant named Ramesh Kumar, son of Janak Das, resident of Lamba Pind, Jalandhar alleged that Raman Arora was illegally demanding money from him every month and was threatening and intimidating both him and his family members.
Now, a new twist in Raman Arora Extortion Case has emerged and this time the complainant Ramesh Kumar is under the scanner.
As per reports, the contractor from whom MLA Arora used to take monthly payment is the mastermind of Mandiala gas scandal. Ramesh is said to be in jail currently.
Ramesh reached Rama Mandi police station to lodge a complaint 15 minutes after Mandiyala gas scandal. He and his associates, including Raj Kumar and Jagdish Singh from Mandiala village in Hoshiarpur, were reportedly supplying tampered gas cylinders, leading to fatal consequences.
It has been revealed that MLA Arora was accepting monthly payments from Ramesh Kumar, despite knowing his involvement in illegal activities. The bribe was allegedly paid to ensure protection and support for his network.
For the unversed, the Mandiala gas tragedy took place on the night of August 22, 2025. Soon after the incident, a complaint was registered within minutes. FIR No. 253 was filed at 9:55 PM, and the police arrived at the scene around 10:10 PM. Ramesh was arrested on August 23 or 24.
MLA Arora was named in FIR No. 119, which was filed earlier on June 23, 2025, at the Bulhowal Police Station.
