Jalandhar MLA Raman Arora sent to 3-days Police remand after being granted bail

In a major development, Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora on Thursday was sent to 3-days Police remand in a new case that has been lodged against him. Arora was granted bail by the High Court on Wednesday, but it seems like the Central MLA will continue to remain in jail.

Arora was produced in the court today and the police has got 3 days' custody. In this case, the victim alleged that the MLA had extorted money from him by threatening him.

MLA Arora was lodged in Nabha jail. Today MLA Arora has been arrested by the police and presented in the court. Police has obtained 3-day remand of Arora from the court by giving arguments of interrogation.

Contractor filed case of extortion against Raman Arora

MLA Raman Arora's lawyer Naveen Chaddha said that FIR number 253 has been registered on 23 August. We had taken bail from High Court yesterday in the previous case. Now police has registered a case on the complaint of a contractor named Ramesh.

Ramesh has alleged that he kept giving Rs 30 thousand to MLA Arora. This contractor does parking contracting work. MLA was arrested by police on 23 May.

Raman Arora Corruption Case

An ATP named Sukhdev Vashisht was caught by the Vigilance Department on 14 May 2025 in Jalandhar city. After questioning the ATP, MLA Raman Arora's name came up in corruption cases. Thereafter, the vigilance arrested MLA Raman Arora from his house on the 23 May 2025.

At that time the vigilance recovered gold jewellery weighing more than 1 kg and cash worth about 6 lakhs from the MLA's house. In this case the MLA was serving jail sentence for 106 days.
