Nitin Kohli fulfills promise to Rama Mandi residents, opens Public Service Centre to hear grievances

Establishing office was part of that commitment so that people would not have to travel far to raise their concerns, said AAP's Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge

Aam Aadmi Party’s Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge, Nitin Kohli, formally inaugurated the party office and public service centre at Rama Mandi in the Burger King market area on January 1.

The event was associated with religious, social, and public service sentiments. Rajya Sabha MP & Chancellor of LPU Ashok Mittal attended the event as Chief Guest and inaugurated the office.

On this occasion, Mayor Vaneet Dhir, Senior Deputy Mayor Balbir Bittu, Deputy Mayor Malkeet Singh Subhana, Improvement Trust Chairman Ramnik Singh Randhawa, District Planning Board Chairman Amritpal Singh, Lovely Group Chairman Ramesh Mittal , Chairman of Punjab Agro Mangal Singh Bassi, former Mayor Jagdish Raja, Dr. Baljit Singh Johal, and Kaku Ahluwalia were present.

The programme began with the recitation of Shri Sukhmani Sahib, creating a spiritual and positive atmosphere, followed by an Ardas seeking peace, progress, and harmony in the region. Langar was also organised on the occasion.

A large number of dignitaries, social workers, traders, youth, women, and local residents were present. Local party leaders and workers also attended the programme with great enthusiasm. Residents expressed happiness as they had long been demanding a public contact centre where they could directly raise their issues.

Nitin Kohli said that during his earlier visits to Rama Mandi and nearby areas, people had shared several ground-level issues with him. He said he had promised that the issues would not only be heard but also addressed through a proper system.

Establishing this office was part of that commitment so that people would not have to travel far to raise their concerns and could get speedy resolutions. He said today’s inauguration is the fulfillment of that promise.

Nitin Kohli stated that the office will remain open to the public, and every issue brought forward will be taken seriously. A dedicated team of party workers will remain stationed there to record grievances and coordinate with concerned departments to ensure solutions. Immediate action will be taken where possible, while other matters will be followed up in a time-bound manner.

He further said that his objective is not limited to politics, but public service. He said Aam Aadmi Party stands for honest politics and public welfare, and whether in power or not, it is their responsibility to stand with people and raise their voice.

He added that the office will act as a strong link between the public and the administration, ensuring effective communication of issues to concerned departments and proper implementation of government facilities and schemes. It will also serve as a centre for public dialogue, awareness activities, and development-related suggestions.

Local residents welcomed the initiative and said the office will help them avoid running from pillar to post for their issues. They expressed confidence that the office will play an important role in the development of Rama Mandi and surrounding areas.

The programme concluded with prayers for smooth functioning of the new office, development of the region, and the well-being of the people.
