Kashmiri students created ruckus at CT University in Ludhiana alleging that they are not receiving proper food for ‘Sehri’ and ‘Iftar’ during the month of Muharram. Allegedly, the students have been repeatedly demanding the required food in the mess, but their demands have been persistently ignored.
Reportedly, the students claim that they raised their demands and approached the Vide Chancellor of CT University Ludhiana, however, instead of listening to them and resolving their demands the Vice Chancellor allegedly abused the students and ordered their expulsion from the university. Following this, a massive uproar erupted in the campus.
Iltija Mufti, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti re-shared a video on her official X handle regarding the controversy. Iltija tagged the Chief Minister of Punjab in the video and demanded an action against CT University. She questions CM Mann and asks, “Do you endorse the Vice Chancellor of CT University Punjab abusing & bullying Kashmiri Muslim students only because they requested food for Iftari & Sehri since it’s Ramzan? Shocked that assaulting Kashmiris has been normalised even in a state like Punjab. We request strict action against the Vice Chancellor. Anything else is mere lip service.”
Upon receiving information about the disturbance, police arrived at the scene and attempted to calm the situation. Meanwhile, a meeting is underway between the students and the university management, where efforts are being made to resolve the issue.
