Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday fired his first reaction to the infamous murder case of 13-year-old girl in Jalandhar West. Punjab CM while addressing the media assured that the culprit will be given strictest punishment and that too in a time-bound manner.
He further stated that directions have been given to police administration to carry out an expedited investigation and conclude the case on fast-track basis.
"Strictest action should be taken. These kinds of crimes are rarest of rare. The case will be concluded in fast-track manner and strictest punishment should be given to the culprit. We have directed the Police to conduct the investigation in a fast-track manner so that other people who similar criminal-like mind will get the message," said CM Mann.
A court in Jalandhar on Tuesday sent Harminder Singh alias Rimpy on 9-days police remand. Rimpy has been arrested in the murder of 13-year-old girl in Jalandhar West area. He has also been charged under POSCO act. ADCP-2 Harinder Singh Gill addressed the media and informed that the Police will strictly carry out investigation and question the accused on how did he carry out the crime.
Harinder Singh Gill further informed that the dismissal of ASI Mangat Ram is also under consideration. As of now, Mangat Ram has been suspended and has been sent to lines.
