Finally, after the month of July which provided nearly no Public holiday in Punjab, the month of August is here with over two consecutive holidays in the month.
Government offices, and schools will be closed on 15th August in order to celebrate the 78th independence year of India.
This festival will be succeeded by the other festival of Bhagwan Shri Krishan's birth, i.e., 16th August. As per the Hindu calendar, this festival occurs on the Asthami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada.
Not the least, these two holidays will be succeeded by one more holiday, i.e., 17th August, Sunday. Overall the Punjab will receive three consecutive holidays, a significant long break from office. These holidays can be utilized to the best by planning a leisure holiday.
