A district-wise rainfall forecast for rainfall has been issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, indicating that rainfall activity might vary from one state to another across the time span between July 30 and August 3, 2025.
As per the weekly update by the IMD, most parts of Punjab will witness light to moderate rainfall however some of the parts might witness heavy showers during the upcoming five days.
According to the reports, ‘heavy’ rainfall activity was recorded in districts including Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa and Fatehgarh Sahib. Meanwhile, the central and northern regions such as Ludhiana, Patiala and Jalandhar saw ‘few’ showers. Along with this, a mix of isolated and light rainfall is predicted in the remaining districts.
No district is expected to witness showers on Thursday. However, ‘isolated’ and ‘few’ rain spells might be reported across all the districts.
Similar to Thursday, no district is expected to see heavy rainfall. However ‘isolated’ rainfall is expected to fall in some districts including Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Tarn Taran and Nawanshahr.
On Saturday, most of southern as well as western districts of Punjab, including Bathinda, Mansa, Ferozepur and Muktsar, are expected to remain dry. Meanwhile, certain districts such as Gurdaspur, Pathankot, SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Hoshiarpur might witness isolated areas.
It is expected that districts including Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall; meanwhile several regions including Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Nawanshahr might receive moderate showers.
