Residents laud Nitin Kohli, development begins in Surya Enclave and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Avenue

Societies’ Presidents hail Nitin Kohli’s leadership, calling the long-pending handover a historic breakthrough that ended 18 years of stalled development.

A long-awaited breakthrough has finally come for residents of Surya Enclave and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Avenue under the Jalandhar Central constituency, as stalled development works have officially begun.

The recent handover of these areas to the Municipal Corporation marks a historic moment, turning an 18-year struggle into a significant victory for thousands of residents.

At the centre of this development stands Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli, whose leadership, perseverance, and commitment to public welfare have drawn widespread appreciation from the community.

Residents say Nitin Kohli fought relentlessly at every level—pushing files forward, overcoming administrative hurdles, and ultimately delivering the results awaited for nearly two decades. The atmosphere in the area is one of gratitude and respect, with people calling Kohli a true visionary and a leader who delivers outcomes.

Dr. Naveen Bilandi, President of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Avenue Resident Welfare Society, expressed heartfelt thanks, saying that no one else could achieve what Kohli has accomplished.

“By ensuring the transfer of these areas to the Municipal Corporation, you have shown people a new path. My society and I are always with you,” he said.

Rajan Gupta, President of the Federation of Residents Welfare Societies, said they never imagined the issue would be resolved with such speed and determination. He added that Kohli prioritised the matter in every meeting and never gave up, earning the gratitude of the entire area.

Engineer M.L. Sehgal, President of Surya Enclave Extension Scheme, said residents had been caught between hope and despair for 18 years, but Kohli stood firmly with the people and saw the issue through to completion. “This step will brighten the future of the area,” he said.

Sunil Jain, Joint Secretary of the Federation of Residents Welfare Societies (14 Marla Block, Surya Enclave), said Kohli treated the entire area like a family and stood by residents during every challenge. “His determination and strong leadership define true development,” he stated.

Industrialist Rakesh Behl of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Nagar Welfare Society said the handover was not just a procedural formality but an emotional victory. “Years of difficulties, administrative obstacles, and struggle have finally ended. Nitin Kohli is truly a leader who lives for public interest,” he said.

Sunil Sharma, President of Engineering Industries Association and a resident of Surya Enclave, acknowledged the difficulty of bringing development momentum to the ground but said Kohli made it possible. “Today, residents feel a new wave of energy and confidence,” he noted.

Girish Goyal, Secretary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Avenue Resident Welfare Society, said Kohli did not rely on repeated assurances but delivered tangible results. He added that under Kohli’s leadership, they now expect rapid progress in roads, sewerage, parks, and lighting work.
