Chaos ensued at the Sudhir Sweets on Hoshiarpur Road in Phagwara when an unknown assailant opened fire at the shop just after 15 minutes it was opened. As per reports, the attackers fired around seven to eight rounds on the shop, creating panic among the public.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the firing. Following the incident, the former Union Minister Som Prakash visited the scene and met with the shop owner. He has flagged serious law and order concerns, claiming that the situation in the state has become worrisome and reflect growing insecurity in the state.
The police reached the scene and initiated a probe into the matter. Currently, the CCTV footage is being examined and a trough investigation is taking place. The identity of the attackers and their motive behind the attack is still under examination.
