Punjab is all set to witness a 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. To make the occasion special and grand, Bhagwant Mann government is organising multiple cultural events and lights shows. Notably, it is expected that lakhs of devotees will head to Sri Anandpur Sahib to seek blessings on the occasion of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji's Saheedi Diwas.
As a result, Punjab Government has set up a special Tent City in Sri Anandpur Sahib where members of Sangats, devotees from other states and even dignitaries can live there.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Wednesday evening in press briefing informed the media about the details of Tent City in Sri Anandpur Sahib. Bains highlighted that the government has set three tent cities in Sir Anandpur Sahib that will be available for people visiting there free of cost.
The Tent City will have all the amenities, including security, parking facilities, and even transportation services. Continue reading below to know all about Sri Anandpur Sahib's Tent City in detail-
"Three Tent City for accommodation of Sangats have been made. The biggest tent city is named Chak Nanaki Niwas. It is set up in Chandesar Pind in 70 acres. It is expected that Sangats from Majha, Doaba, and some parts of Malwa will come here. Every type of facilities are available in the tent city- 24 hours langars, 24 hours CCTV, every kind of security."
"There are two types of arrangements. In one tent 4 people can stay while another is dormitory where more number of people can stay. 24 hours supply of water both warm and cold will be available."
"Another tent city is near PSPCL office that has been named Bhai Satidas Niwas. Guests who are are from other states including dignitaries like Ministers, Supreme Court judges, Embassy officials. Bhai Satidas Niwas is for such dignitaries."
"Also three parking facilities have been set up in 101 acre of land. One of them is called trolley city. Devotees who will be coming with tractors, trolleys can park their vehicle here. Every kind of facilities will be available in trolley city. Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is 700 meters, Gurudwara Takhat Sahib is 900 meter away from the trolley city. Parking facilities will be free of cost," said Harjot Singh Bains.
You can book your tent online either by visiting 'Connect Punjab' portal or from mobile app Punjab m-Sewa.
Once you visit Connect Punjab portal, you will see Book Tent option. Below is attached a screenshot for your guidance-
If you are booking through mobile app- Punjab m-Sewa, then download the app first. Open the app and register your mobile number first.
Once mobile number is registered, you can see 'Tent City Booking' option in Categories, click on it.
Click on Book a Tent
A tent can be booked up to 2 days.
When you enter the date, then you will see that there is only two days option is available in date box. Select your preferred dates.
Then select Tent Type i.e. 4 bedded tent or dormitory.
Then select any ID type you want to upload on the app. For example Aadhar Card, DL, Passport, Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Government ID Card.
Fill all the details
Then attach a photo of your identity proof from both front and back side. Then finally click on submit option.
