A major traffic jam is being witnessed on Jalandhar-Ludhiana National Highway. Traffic jam at Jalandhar-Ludhiana National Highway was reported on November 20.
As per information received, traffic jam at Jalandhar-Ludhiana National Highway is because a truck loaded with iron rods overturned on the flyover near Lovely Professional University i.e. on Jalandhar-Phagwara Highway. The incident took place at 6 am.
SSF personnel were working to remove the truck on the GT Road, but the traffic jam still persists. Upon receiving information about the incident, the SSF team arrived at the scene and safely rescued the driver trapped in the truck and sent him to the Civil Hospital for treatment.
The team called in a crane and began removing the truck, but traffic had already been blocked for several kilometers.
The massive traffic jam can be understood by the fact that it stretched from the University to Chak Hakim in Phagwara. As of now the traffic is not fully restored (while writing).
