Third accused in Ferozepur RSS Leader’s grandson murder case arrested after late night encounter

Senior RSS leader's grandson was walking to pick up his children from school in the main market when armed men shot him dead.

In a major development in the murder case of RSS leader's grandson Naveen Arora, the third accused was arrested on late Wednesday night after an encounter. The third accused has been identified as Gursimran aka Jatin Kali, a resident of Badhaani Jaimal Singh village in Ferozepur.

For those who have not followed the case, on 16th November, grandson of an RSS leader was shot dead by criminals in Ferozepur. RSS leader's grandson was walking to pick up his children from school in the main market when armed men suddenly appeared from behind and shot him in the head. He collapsed on the spot. Doctors declared him dead after being taken to the hospital.

A Pro Khalistan outfit Sher-e-Punjab Brigade, claimed responsibility for this murder.

Addressing the media after the encounter, SSP Ferozepur Bhupinder Singh said, "Gursimran alias Jatin Kali was wanted. Our team was engaged in the investigation. We got information that he was roaming near Arifke Road."

"Then based on the information, a blockade was done. At one point, the DSP, SHO and other officers were there. A motorcycle came at a very high speed towards that place. We signaled him to stop but he ran away from there. Our vehicle followed him and then he opened fire on the police party."

"The police vehicle also got hit by a bullet and its marks can be seen. Then the vehicle was stopped and retaliatory firing was done. Jatin Kali was injured in it and then finally arrested. He was then admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment. He fired from a .32 bore pistol. Two arrests have already been made in this case; this is the third arrest."
