Three-day income tax raid at former Punjab minister Sunder Sham’s Hoshiarpur residence concludes

The operation, which began on January 28, involved document verification, questioning, and detailed investigations, with no visitors allowed inside the house.

The Income Tax Department raid on the residence of senior Congress leader and former minister Sundar Sham Arora on Jodhamal Road in Hoshiarpur has concluded after a three-day long operation. The operation, which began on January 28 at 6:30 AM, involved document verification, questioning, and detailed investigations, with no visitors allowed inside the house, concluded at 12:15 AM on the third day.

As per the official sources, the team questioned Arora about a company in Chandigarh-Mohali and various other properties. Offices that were related to the company and the homes of the associated individuals had also been raided earlier. During the investigation that lasted up to 62 hours, the authorities had extensive discussion with Arora and gathered detailed information on multiple issues. Nearly at midnight, four vehicles entered the residence to remove the documents and data before the investigating officers left the premises. Reports suggest that Arora was present at his residence throughout the raid.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department had raided the residence of former minister and senior Congress leader Sunder Sham Arora in Hoshiarpur, Punjab in the early morning hours. These raids were conducted as a joint operation by the ED and the Income Tax Department. As per information, Vigilance Bureau had earlier too raided his residence and later he was also subsequently arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in connection with two alleged corruption cases.
