Unknown assailants shoot down medical store owner in Gurdaspur's Dera Baba Nanak

Bedi was hit in the head, got seriously injured and was being taken to Amritsar for treatment, however he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

A medical store owner has been shot dead in Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur today in the morning hours. The incident took place when the Bedi Medical store owner Ranbir Singh Bedi a resident of Dera Baba Nanak was opening his store just like any other day around 8 AM today. Suddenly, some unknown assailants opened fire on Ranbir Singh Bedi. During this firing, Bedi was hit in the head and got seriously injured. He was being taken to Amritsar for treatment, however as per reports it is being said that he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Currently, the Dera Baba Nanak police have initiated a probe into the matter and further details are awaited. As per the information available the police has said that no establishment has been made regarding the threat call angle. However an FIR had been registered in the year 2024, but the police confirms that no recent case has come to light as of now. The police further confirms that at least four rounds were fired during the incident and further probe is underway.
