Violent clash reported at Mariton Hotel, Jalandhar last night; Here’s what happened

The Mariton Hotel partner clash on Feb 12 reportedly escalated into a physical assault involving co-owners Dr. Paramjit Marwah and Yash Dua caught on CCTV.

A violent confrontation broke out late last night at Mariton Hotel, drawing local police intervention and widespread attention after years of simmering infighting among the hotel’s business partners. The altercation reportedly involved co-owners Paramjit Singh Marwah and Yash Dua, and escalated into physical violence involving hotel staff.

What happened last night

According to multiple sources, a heated argument between Mariton Hotel partners escalated into a physical clash late on February 12, 2026. One partner was allegedly forced to the ground and assaulted, during which his turban was reportedly removed. Several hotel staff members are also said to have taken part in the melee. Law enforcement officials were later informed, and the matter has been registered with the police as investigations continue.

However, Yash Dua has offered a different account. He claims that Dr. Paramjit Singh Marwah, accompanied by five associates, allegedly entered a private family function where the Dua family was celebrating their granddaughter’s birthday, creating chaos at the venue. This version, according to Dua, led to the confrontation spiraling into violence.

Mariton Hotel has already been in headlines for internal conflict

This is not the first time Mariton Hotel has grabbed media attention for internal discord. Over recent months, the luxury wedding and banquet venue, operated under Mariton Hoteliers Pvt. Ltd. on GT Road, Jalandhar, has been at the center of a bitter dispute among its business partners.

Ownership structure and growing tensions

The ownership structure of Mariton Hotel includes several stakeholders, with shares roughly distributed as follows:

  • Gautam Kukreja & Gaurav Kukreja (Kukreja brothers): ~15%

  • Paramjit Singh Marwah & Gursimran Singh Marwah (Marwah brothers): ~36%

  • Silent partners from Karpurthala: ~29%

  • Marwah brothers and Yash Dua: ~20%

The core dispute reportedly began in December 2025 when the Marwah brothers, considered majority stakeholders, moved forward with the purchase of adjoining land along the hotel property without consulting or securing agreement from all partners. The land purchase has since become the central bone of contention.

Dispute over land acquisition and bank loan

According to internal sources and partner claims:

  • The Marwah brothers allegedly acquired additional land adjacent to Mariton Hotel, partially government-owned land (estimated to be around 40% government land), and began construction activities soon after registration.

  • Yash Dua reportedly opposed the acquisition, stating that the land was unsuitable and the decision was taken unilaterally.

  • A bank loan of approximately Rs. 8.5 crore was allegedly sought from Punjab National Bank against the new land, prompting objections from minority partners.

  • After receiving a formal complaint from the minority stakeholders, the bank reportedly halted further disbursement of the loan, although around Rs. 5 crore had allegedly already been released.

This financial and legal tangle has since fueled distrust and intensified internal disagreements, creating the backdrop to last night’s violent altercation.

Ongoing investigation

Local police have confirmed that a case has been registered, and statements from both sides are being recorded. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the hotel, eye-witness accounts, and communication records to piece together the sequence of events. No official charges have been publicly disclosed yet.

As details unfold, this incident is now poised to have legal repercussions beyond the immediate physical clash, possibly reigniting debates over partnership governance, financial accountability, and property rights within Mariton Hoteliers Pvt. Ltd.
