AAP MP Raghav Chadha is once again in the spotlight after fresh claims made by Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu following recent ED raids linked to Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora.
Bittu allegedly claimed that Chadha could turn a witness in the case and may reveal details about alleged financial irregularities and also hinted at growing differences between Chadha and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) saying that Chadha’s stand could impact several people if the investigation moves forward.
These claims came after the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at locations linked to Arora. Bittu also accused Arora of misusing land meant for industrial development and hinted at possible foreign financial links including trips to Dubai and so far there has been no official confirmation from agencies on these claims.
At the same time Chadha also made a public appearance in the Rajya Sabha where he spoke during the election of Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh and in his remarks Chadha said his past equation with Harivansh was “khatta-meetha” but expressed hope that it would now be “only meetha-meetha” and also praised Harivansh’s experience and said it would help maintain dignity and smooth functioning of the House.
Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has withdrawn the security cover earlier provided by Punjab Police to Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and following this decision the central government led by the BJP at the Union level upgraded Chadha’s protection by assigning him ‘Z’category security cover for travel and presence in Punjab and Delhi.
