Germany likely to impose complete lockdown as Covid-19 cases spike

Germany registered its highest-ever covid-19 cases on Wednesday with 66,884 fresh cases. Outgoing chancellor Angela Merkel, directed the 16 federal states to enforce stricter measures. The federal government plans to impose further nationwide COVID-19 restrictions based on the hospitalization rate in individual federal states. The country seeks to enforce the '3G rule' for public transport.
