A nearly seven-year-old singing video has suddenly found itself at the centre of a fresh controversy in the Punjabi music industry, after veteran singer Babbu Maan made a pointed remark during his recent Australia concert.
Although Babbu Maan did not take any name, social media users are linking his comments to Afsana Khan, the Punjabi singer who recently gained wider attention following her association with Dhurandhar. The speculation has quickly turned the concert clip into a viral talking point.
What Did Babbu Maan Say on Stage?
The viral video is reportedly from Babbu Maan’s Brisbane concert on August 9. While speaking about his popular song Bheegi Palkon Par Naam Tumhara Hai, the singer appeared to take a dig at singers who perform songs without understanding their mood or emotions.
He reportedly said that many people nowadays simply start singing without understanding the mizaaj of a song.
To make his point, Babbu Maan then appeared to imitate a female singer while singing the same track in a noticeably high-pitched and aggressive style. He followed the imitation by singing the song in his own original voice, drawing loud cheers, whistles and applause from the audience.
